Tomato Growth, Yield and Quality Response to Mixed Chemical-Organic Fertilizers and Grafting Treatments in High Tunnel Environment

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is a major vegetable crop world-wide, and grown in high tunnels many regions. This study investigates the use of two fertilizer sources, chemical integrated (composted poultry manure plus urea) fertilizers, grafting on growth, nitrate-N content, yield, fruit quality tomato northwestern Washington. Grafting treatments consisted ‘Panzer’ grafted one three rootstocks ‘Estamino’, Maxifort’, ‘DRO138TX’, or non-grafted (control). Application increased number leaves per plant, plant height, cumulative fresh biomass pruned suckers relative to plants with treatment. Grafted had greater growth than throughout growing season. There was no significant difference between concentration tissue petiole sap; however, contained higher levels plants. Total marketable weight did not differ due source, but total for 2016. effect source firmness, water pH, titratable acidity, β-carotene; soluble solids (TSS) lycopene content were enhanced 2015, TSS (°Brix)
